Baton rouge, LA.. questions!!?

my best friend and i will be moving to baton rouge, LA in five months. we're trying to get accurate information prior to moving there so our move is very well planned. we are looking for a 2 bdrm, 2 or 1 bath, in a good neighborhood that is safe but close to nightlife and lsu, somewhere around 800 dollars give or take. we dont want anything ghetto.. but we dont need a palace either. just a nice safe place. we've looked up the different neighborhoods as well as close surrounding towns, but are having trouble finding safe and nice apartments.. any information would be very helpful and appreciated as to neighborhoods in br, close towns, apartments you would personally recomment.. anything! thank you soo much :)
