Do most students transferring to Tulane come from a private university?

Unless you're talking about for-profit schools like the University of Phoenix, the only distinction between public and private universities is where their funding comes from. It has absolutely nothing to do with their academic quality, and no bearing whatsoever on transfer applications. Pick the school that will be best for you regardless of whether the Tulane plan works out, and ignore the public/private designation completely.
